Fasting month

When browsing other blog.. huhu i find out one of the blog about local food. It write about one my favorite local pastry food... Kuih Qasidah. This is usually can find in my hometown during fasting month. Last year during fasting month, i have travel all Pasar Ramadhan around Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur just to find Qasidah.But the result is unexpected. I cannot find one. Just 2 day before Hari Raya i went to hometown and get it.

It made from flour mix with some sugar and salt. Fried onions be put as topping to this pastry. It so sweet and delicious. I can imagine how delicious is it. I just cannot wait for the next fasting month to eat it again. Can someone made it for me... haha. As Malaysian you should try it. U wont regret..

Bahan-bahan: (satu loyang- hidangan untuk 10 orang)


1 cawan tepung gandum
3 cawan air
7 sudu besar gula pasir
1/4 sudu teh garam (sedikit je)
1 sudu teh air kapur- cair

Bahan untuk ditabur:
5 ulas bawang merah ros, dihiris nipis
Cara membuatnya:

1. Masukkan semua bahan kecuali bawang ke dalam periuk. Gunakan api perlahan.

2. Kacau sentiasa adunan di atas api sehingga adunan pekat dan berkilat.

3. Tuangkan ke dalam acuan atau loyang. Sejukkan 30 minit.

4. Panaskan 5 sudu besar minyak dalam kuali. Goreng bawang hingga keperangan. Tuang bawang dan minyaknya sekali ke atas kuih yang telah disejukkan tadi. Masukkan ke dalam peti ais sebelum dipotong untuk dihidang.

Info : Qasidah is local pastri from Kedah. It only can be find during fasting month and certain feast.
